Frank,
I see you have a power commanderII & stage I air cleaner.
You are working with a budget of between $1,500.00- $2,500.00.
Your budget will allow you to do a stage II screamin eagle big
bore kit... which brings your RK up to 1550cc or 95 cu.in. a very
reliable upgrade! And you can still use your stage II & bub
pipes. We recommend reinheart true duel exhaust however.
Parts breakdown:
Stage II Screamin Eagle big bore kit which includes cams, cylinders,
pistons, clutch spring etc. $959.90
Reinheart has a "true dual" that they guarantee 13-15
hp on dyno runs. $824.95.
Total
Parts: $1,784.85 plus tax
Labor : $500.00
This leaves you about $70 left over for booze or a titty bar!

RE:
1999 EFI ROADKING MAGNETI MARRELLI SYSTEM: MOST HP& TQ AS
POSSIBLE WHILE KEEPING RELIABILITY AND GOOD MIDRANGE PULLING POWER.
Dear
Kirk,
After
some thought and consideration, I would change the exhaust to
a much better performing pipe - either a White Bros. E-Series
2:1 pipe; a Rich Products Thunderheader or Vance & Hines pro
pipe. These pipes give awesome midrange power when used with correct
cam and cylinder head set up. Next, I would do some headwork.
Run the stock valves to keep velocity and reshape ports &
combustion chamber. After determining how the heads flow after
the modifications I can then decide which cam set to use and adjust
compression accordingly; keeping in mind detonation possibilities.
The heads will be set up with new sprints, guide seals etc.
Stock induction module will work just fine at this stage of the
modifications, as we are looking at midrange pulling power. The
PCII will need adjusting to get to get correct air/fuel ration
(similar to jetting a carburetor).

Hi
Torque Cyl Heads set up with springs (630 S&S) Teflon
Seals etc.
Install
a good exhaust system like a White Brothers E Series 2 into
1 header.and a good cams like the Bobby Wood TW- 6G gear drive
cams, with the + 4 Degree key installed. Have me dyno tune it
and you will get 80 horse power and 85 ft lbs of torque at the
rear wheel. This is all you need to do. You don't have to spend
all your money on more performance parts. ((Just use the right
parts the first time))
Following is what was presented to the
Dealers and shops here in the valley
Project
Bike for Upgrade
1999
Roadking EFI
This objective, should you accept, is to provide your recommendations
of how to best upgrade this bike.
This is a great way to get your name in front of a large audience.
Currently I get about 6,000 to 10,000 hits per day. I know that
this project will create interest, as a lot of the people that
I talk to would like to increase their power. Now you have a
forum to provide your technical knowledge.
Please, I need this information back by Feb 28th. This
will then give me time to post the information on my website
at phoenixbikers.com.

Objective;
Get Max HP and Torque for $1,500 - $2,500
I
have a power commander II and Bub 2" over/under pipes with
Stage I air cleaner kit. I want to spend 1500-2500 on a performance
upgrade and get as much HP and TQ as I can. I understand the 99
efi is only 38mm. will this restrict flow to ugrade heads if I
go that way? I would like the most performance I can get and still
have a dependable bike that I can load up with a tbag and wife
and make long trips.
what
is your suggestion?
I
will send this request to all of the Harley Davidson Dealers in
the valley and all of the Custom Bike shops listed on Custom Bikes
page at phoenixbiker.com
After I get all of the responses, I will put together a report
that will summaries your response and publish it on the web at
phoenixbikers.com. I assure you that no one will know who responded
or what the response was until it is published.
