Rio Rico - a great place for a ride and biker friendly (pictures below)

My Wife and I made the trip south to Rio Rico, AZ. WOW, what a great neighborhood.  Stunning views all around. Nice and cool.  The elevation is 3,500 feet, making it cooler than here in the valley of sun,  Rio Rico is about 50 miles south of Tucson, AZ

We stopped on the way to the Esplendor Resort at Rio Rico and did a little shopping at Tubac. What a fun little community lined with shops and eateries. We had lunch at Shelby's Bistro and then did a little exploring of some of the shops that line the village. My wife loved it.  Below you will see some of the first pictures are from Tubac.

Our Next stop was the resort," Esplendor, in Rio Rico."  What a pleasant surprise. This resort has the flavor of the old west in Arizona to a Spanish/Mexican homestead.  The resort setting, on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful  Santa Cruz river valley and surrounding area is magnificent. Views from the rooms,  the restaurant and bar are stunning.  The Staff and management are some of the most kind and accommodating people that I have met in a long time.   And yes, they are biker friendly.  They want our business.  For more information, I have pictures below and links to Tubac and the Esplendor Resort.

The food in their bar and restaurant was excellent?  Popcorn with our cocktails!  We hope to return on the warmer weather to enjoy the pool and hot tub.  We want to spend more time on the patio overlooking the valley and exploring the back country hills, lakes and winding roads in the back country.  Can't wait!

Also, if you like to golf, there is a really great 18 hole golf course called the Rio Rico Golf Club Resort. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the championship Rio Rico golf course.  I had the pleasure of golfing with Steve Henderson, the Head Golf Pro for the Club.  What a great guy, if you get a chance to golf there, make sure you say hi to him.  They have great prices for the course if you stay there and they do have golf club  rentals.
